LF Patients undergoing treatment, University of Notre Dame Haiti Program
On a trip to Haiti from June 18-22, Canadian businessperson, philanthropist, and Member of Parliament Belinda Stronach and Haitian-American musician Wyclef Jean observed the debilitating and destructive effects of neglected tropical diseases.
Belinda stated, “Haiti is our neighbor…it is incumbent upon us to make sure that we work hand in hand with the Haitian people to help improve their lives.”

Burundi Hosts Mother Child Health Week |

In late June, Burundi’s Ministry of Health, through its National NTD Control Program and National Program for Onchocerciasis Control, organized the first of two national and biannual Mother and Child Health Weeks (SSME) in collaboration with the WHO, the GAVI Alliance and UNICEF.
