Ground Breaking Drug Donation: WHO and Novartis Join Forces to Make Treatment Available for Fascioliasis

Fascioliasis is a food-borne trematode, also known as “common liver-fluke”, that infects over 2 million people worldwide. While fascioliasis is found on most continents, Bolivia, Ecuador, Egypt, Iran, Peru and Vietnam experience the most disease burden. In these endemic countries, school children are at the highest risk of infection.
